Ported Hydros

Could someone explain ported vs. non-ported hydros and tell me how I tell the difference? I have 1-1000,2-1250's, 1-1450 and 1-149. I have been looking at lift cylinders on ebay and the sellers normally say you need a ported hydro.
Thanks!

Jim

Jubilee,

A ported hydro has ports out the front of it where hydraulic lines hook to run the hydraulic lift cylinder.

This is not a very good picture but it is the only one I have on my computer of the ported pump. The lines would come out of the front on the pump, if you don't have the lines then look for two plugs there. If you don't have the plugs you don't have a ported pump.

Thanks guys for all the responses. I woke up about 4:30 this morning and realized that I should have known the answer to that question. I went out later and looked at my 1450 and saw the hydraulic lines. Now I have to check those 1250's and see if they have provisions for them. I am collecting the parts to put hydraulics on one of them, hopefully. I really enjoy reading all the great info you guys so readily share on this site.
