A Fetish with 104s?

Okay, I have been looking for a wide frame, or a QL or a 82 series. I already have two 104s, both run good. So why do I need another 104 or two? First my brother-in-law tells me about a good running Cub Cadet with hydraulic lift that has busted steering. So I'm thinking, maybe this one is the wide frame I'm looking for. So I hear he only wants $150 for it. So I told my brother-in-law I want to go look at it.

In the meantime my friend Buzz tells me about another 104 that looks pretty good. Might be able to get it for $100. I'm thinking if I can get it for that price I'll bite.

Now I convince my brother-in-law today to take me down to see the busted steering, good running, hydraulic lift Cub Cadet for $150. It turns out to be another 104. Looks rough, but it's supposed to run real good. Has the narrow frame hydraulic lift on it and a 3 point lift. Turns out this guy's a trader so I tell him I'll trade him my JD RX75 rear engine rider for it. And I think he's going to do it. I have an extra steering column and box from a 107. But why do I need another 104? Is it a fever, or a fetish with 104s? Help!:Cub4:

T-Mo I know the feeling...A year ago when we were looking for 6 months for our first cub did not think we would ever find one and then here I am a year later with 4...lol....and they do come in twos.....a couple of weeks ago I found a 102 this weekend I looked at a 123 with a hydro lift and a 3 point and a 122 with a 3 point....So I am pretty close to having all of that series of tractors in a couple of weeks...lol....that is if my wife does not hang me....lol......I surely have yellow fever.....

The thing is, I really want a wide frame type Cub. It seems like all I find here is narrow frames. The 104 for $150 is very rough looking and I will have to replace the steering in it, and possibly the front spindles. It's supposed to run good, but will at least need a carb cleaning. I can get that one pretty easy just by trading my JD rear engine rider. The other 104 may be harder to get - I'm getting this info third hand.

If I get this one 104, I might sell the hydraulic lift off of it - after I be sure it works. Or I might keep it. I might even pull the engine off and put it on my 123 roller that's in a lot better shape. Who knows.

I'm still in search of a decent wide frame, quiet line or 82 series that won't break the bank.

You could get the tractor for $150, sell the pump for twice that, and sell the tractor for $150...you'd have $300 to go toward a WF. :biggrin2.gif:

Conner,
My problem is, I sort of get attached to each one. If I buy the 104, I might just want to hang onto it. They're hard to part with.
