Hey everybody,

I’m new to posting here and I have a question. I’m adding custom power steering to my cub cadet 1650 using a 3000 series power steering pump. I was wondering what the fittings for hydraulic hoses are called. I’ve looked all over and can not seem to locate them anywhere. They appear to be smooth (no threads) just an oring that are held in place with the bracket.

The attached photos describe what I need. It’s the fitting on the end of the hydraulic cylinder hose. These are not my photos just some I found online

If anybody could help me out that would be appreciated. Thanks

You are missing a flat bar that has 2 bolt holes and slots for over the steel lines. You can get on ebay and search for john deere power steering and find several pictures of the part you are missing. Eaton also has info online for your control. The one i used on my 782 came from a deere. Seems like I fabed my lines by brazing some washers on the steel lines.

First, welcome to OCC.:beerchug:
I used a Deere steering gear and Cub cylinder on my 1650 and 782.
They use Hydraulic 37° flair fittings, not "O" ring fittings and I bent my custom lines using common 3/8" vehicle brake/fuel line.
on both of the Cubs I converted.

This is a link to a catalog with the info for your control. Page 20 has the dimensions for your missing bracket in case you must fabricate one.
Good luck, it was the best thing that I did to my 782.

Are you speaking of ORF fittings? ( o ring face) if so, google can help you.
They are not as common as 37* flair fittings and don't lend themselves to modification as easily as regular flair fittings.
There was a big push to go to them some years ago, some followed others stayed traditional. it all depended on the application.

Power steering is a wonderful thing, you will have to modify your spindle bracket where you attach the cylinder and prolly go to super steer axle to allow for the cylinder rod to tire clearance, on a left turn. BTDT. :beerchug:

Thank you everybody for the help.

Correct me if I’m wrong but the holes on the power steering pump are for 37degree fittings? Is there an o ring on that to seal it up? Pardon my ignorance. I’m trying to learn.

Also I do have to bracket that keeps the fittings in place- just not in the picture

Check the pdf link in my last post and you will find pictures of the fittings and installation details. I have the pdf on my computer but it took about 2 hrs of searching online to find a link to it that you could access.

Ok thanks for the help. I did see that pdf and looked through it but when I tried to search for those fittings I came up empty on the internet. I typed in “9/16 plug-o port fitting and nothing similar can up. This is a bit trickier than I had originally though

The fittings are probably made by Eaton. It seems like mine had short pieces of the original lines still attached. If you have access to a lathe, you could turn the adapters to their dimensions and braze them onto 3/8" steel tubing.

It seems like someone else on here had the same problem awhile back and maybe Jeff made some fittings for him.
