Voltage regulator mount and wiring?

I made a post not too long ago when I short circuited the voltage regulator on my 129, and everything still looks okay inside. I’m currently refurbishing the wiring harness and while I was taking it off, both rubber mounts broke off. They look like they were riveted in place, so the right thing to do is get a whole new regulator with the mounts, but I tend to ignore the right thing to do. I tried using zip ties, and that’s the first time in my life zip ties failed to solve one of my problems. So is there any way the mounts can be replaced, or would a few wraps of electrical tape suffice? It’s my go to mower so it don’t have to look pretty, just needs to get the job done.

One last thing, does the VR have 2 different grounds? Mine has never had the wire going from the negative battery terminal on the frame to the GRD connection on the regulator, but it has the metal cable on the back of the regulator grounded to the mount. Do both of them serve the same purpose? The wiring diagram i’ve seen haven’t shown the cable on the regulator, just the GRD wire to the negative terminal. Thanks for listening to my jerry-rig ted talk and any info would be really helpful

Won't hurt a thing. Actually it is positively GOOD.

New rubber isolators can be made from a section of rubber tarp strap in a pinch.

I have a broken v/r with good rubber mounts.
If you want to p/m me your address, I'll remove them and mail them to you.

I managed to use a mud flap from a peterbuilt, it’s all squared away now. Thanks for the opportunity though!
