Red or Yellow?
So what is the difference between these two?, besides the color:Cub8::Cub3:
|
Difference...
Size (Red Larger) More models (Red) More HP (Red) More nostalgic (Yellow) Higher Cost (Red) Toughness (Draw) But what the heck I own 5 yellows and 2 Reds I love them all. |
The yellow one also has a cast iron grill surround the red lone is cast aluminum
The rear end is defiantly cast iron and heavier than the possible aluminum one on the red one. They have both that were used. If I can see right the red one has a hydraulic lift. Both are fine machines. |
The red one comes in yellow too and the main difference there is red sucks.:BB&YS:

Also, the yellow and white one is a narrow frame, while the red one is a wide frame.

I was really not referring to those two, but in general the difference between the red/yellow build ones, in my search for a "tank", I see/read a lot of red ones and yellow ones. Is fair to say that the yellow ones are better build than the red ones.:coffee:

The RED 82 Series was introduced in 1979 to compliment the IH tractor line. It was a very successful Series. In 1981 IH sold the Cub Cadet Line to CCC (MTD).
At that time CCC introduced the 82 Series in a Yellow and White version. The Red Cubs went to IH Tractor Dealers while the Yellow and White Cubs went to Cub Cadet Dealers. The ONLY difference between the 82 Series models was the paint. In 1985, CCC stopped offering the Red 82 Series Cubs. The RED 82 Series Cubs are viewed by most Cubs Fans as a great series. I have one and it is one of my favorite Cubs. I wouldn't part with mine. :IH Trusted Hand: :Cub8: |
I would be hard pressed to say any of the older yellow cubs are better than the red ones. They are all "Tanks". There are a lot of people, me included, that think the x82 series tractors are the best ones they ever built. The 782 is my personal favorite, but I do love my 982 as well.
