149, mouse nest under flywheel cover

I'm sure it has been asked before but searching didn't turn anything up. Over the winter mice built a nest under the flywheel cover on my 149. Is the cover removeable without removing the engine from the tractor? Any other suggestions for cleaning the mess out?

All set on this one. I'm a bit rusty, once I remembered which way the air flowed... I was able to take the covers off top of the engine and pull/vacuum/blow air from the flywheel end to clean things out. Will have to try the mothballs next time the tractors are going to be sitting for extended periods. Now to figure out why the engine will only rev to about 2000 rpm when using the throttle. Looks like the throttle lever isn't moving the cable after half way.

Is the cable sheathing attached firmly on both ends? Especially the carburetor end. If the sheathing moves, the cable doesn't work properly.

Hadn't had a chance to update yet... You nailed it Billy-O, the clamp on the carb end of the cable was missing the "clamp" piece which is allowing the sheathing to slide instead of the cable. I might have a spare but if not I will have to source one.
