Kohler Command 22

Hey all, I have been working on a Command 22 and was thinking I would
like to put a new Carb on it instead of buying a 105 dollar kit. Or at least
check price. All I can really find are aftermarket chiny carbs and would
rather not buy one. Of course maybe the one on it is already a chiny carb.
Does anyone know anything about Keihin Carbs. I have looked around
quite a bit but just can't come up with one for this engine.
Carb is Keihin 24 053 60. Also has these letters on it. BCH 65A NA

Horizontal shaft?
I've had pretty good luck with this kit.
The key to them is getting all the o rings replaced and of coarse getting them good and cleaned out. http://https://www.ebay.com/itm/183843908602?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=TNuxJHmpSny&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=oiKntViMRR K&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

If all else fails, i have used a few of these.

Is this a vertical engine? IF so the new number is 24 853 106-s $300.00

Thanks for the feedback. I could not get the Ebay links to work however.
Not that I doubted your word Lew but I had to put that part number in
and take a looksie. Yikes. I really can't see what is worth 300 there.
Time to reevaluate I reckon. Bummer is that the choke is broken as
well ( cheesy Plastic thing). Don't know how to sort that out either but
I sure don't want to pay 70 for choke repair kit. No wonder chiny parts
are such a hit here in the US of A.

Pulled this carb apart just to clean it up as best I could without total
disassembly of jets etc. I figured I would just drop the cash on a
rebuild kit, but. When I look at the kits none of them appear to have
the diaphragm that goes in the Accelerator pump? From the looks of things
the one I have is pretty well toast. Anyone rebuild one of these including
the diaphragm. Thanks

If you go here and go to page 5-15 it will show you the part # for the kit.

I have also used this aftermarket carb a few times and they work well. Posting a new link.

Thanks again for the Links to resources. The manual with all the Carb
diagrams and info is in my save this forever file. This has indeed been
an education. As far as I can tell you have to buy a kit for the carb and
also buy a kit to rebuild the accelerator pump which is part of the carb.
And buy a kit to rebuild the choke assembly. I remember not so long ago
when you could just buy a carb kit.
Anyway when its all said and done I would have 2/3 of the cost of new and still
have to do the rebuild. Bit the bullet and bought new. I have bought
whole tractors for less.
