147 off the trailer
 

1st post since my new member intro. Got her of the trailer, under her own power I might add. Figured out why the PO said you needed starting fluid to start it, choke cable rusted solid, easy fix, disconnect cable. Next issue no fuel to float bowl, easy fix, remove carb clean and unstick needle. almost forgot new battery. Now manual engage choke hit the switch, cranked so quick it scared me!! cut it off quick look for leaks, looks ok crank again try hydro lever thingy, goes backward, goes forward, idles in neutral no movement, get the ramps. drive off trailer, act like small child on Christmas morning. Brakes a little touchy, slides tires on gravel if not careful. Maybe it was worth a bcuck and a quarter after all. Next issue, lots of slop in steering, must investigate farther.:biggrin2.gif:

thanx, really got a lot of info from this site, 1st cub and i love it really wasn't looking for another project but looking forward to it now!!

Nice looking first cub. Congratulations::beerchug: I think you'll enjoy having one and others will soon follow!! Yes, they have some things to work out but you still have a more solid ride for you $$ than with anything else for that price!!! Looking forward to more pictures.

Yeah, I think I did ok on the purchase but now; a 46 gt mower came with this tractor but I'm pretty sure it isn't the original for it, and I think the front PTO clutch is bad, but not sure what to do to trouble shoot it. And of course the sloppy steering, there's a bolt where the roll pin should be in the steering arm and by the way how do you go about getting the steering column out of this thing? Again thnx for all the replies and info!!!
