Cub Identification Help Please

4 Attachment(s)
Hi all been awhile been battling sever chronic LYME Disease but...
I came across this Older Cub and can't figure out what it is.
Trying to get info from the guy is like pulling teeth!
I asked the Model # and he said he remembers it as 114?
I said don't know if they made a 114, as tractor data dot com
has no 114 listed. He finally sent some pics,
hood number goes 11? and finally got the ID plate pic this morning,
but still no better hood number pic. Engine pic you can read
"Synchro Balanced", non Kohler I guess?
ID tag model says "CADET" The price is cheap so...
any help would be greatly appreciated.
I can't seeem to find out anything via a Google search. Thanks, Bryan

Well, it is a IH built Lawn Tractor. Best as I can see, it is model: 111. That had a 11 HP B&S engine #252707 in it.

The Production Code should be 0350025Uxxxxxx, with the "x" being the sequential serial number.

The 111 was made from 1978 to 1979.

Notice it is a LAWN TRACTOR not a GARDEN TRACTOR, just an FYI, no offense.
:bigthink:

To confirm some of the above, "Syncrobalanced" is a Briggs and Stratton term, I own a model 252707 as stated above and mine is a 1983 11hp "Syncrobalanced" "Koolbore" (aluminum cylinder and block) vertical shaft. It came in my '83/84 MTD build Sears Craftsman LT11 with VariDrive. If that cub is super cheap in that condition I'd scoop it up quick even if the motor is junk!

I tore down a 11 horse Briggs identical to that last winter. It was all worn
out. The Syncro balanced thing was interesting. Basically 2 heavy weights
that hang off either side of the connecting rod on the crank. Crank turns
freely in them so the just hang there. I have to admit I beat the heck out
of that engine for 10 years, and it was well used when I got it. As was
said. If the price is right, go get it.
