125 seat options

What's the general consensus on the old fiberglass seats for the narrow frame tractors? My 125 has a seat that the vinyl is cracked but is in good shape beyond that. The foam is all there, and the pan itself is solid. Can they be re-covered? Is it an expensive endeavor? :bigthink:

From all that I have seen, is to take it to an upholstery shop, and have the seat refitted.

I had this one done at an upholstery shop a number of years ago.
He gave me a price of $75 + tax.
When I picked it up he said he wouldn't do it again for that price.

Heres what was discussed when I had same question for my 104 seat.

Good luck in your search

I took the one off my 125 to a local upholstery shop. They said sure we
can do it. After 4 months of waiting on them they let me know that
they decided not to do it.. Gotta love the stick to it mindset of the new
business world. I wasn't overly worried about the cost, was willing to
pay. I currently use and old bed spread for a pad. I too am going to try and
do it myself somehow.
Seats are a real problem. Have 2 cubs with lousy seats, my 01 4runner
has lousy seats and my 93 GMC pickup has lousy seats. :biggrin2:
Hopefully someone out there has a clue where to get parts- materials
cus I sure haven't figured it out.

I see reupholstered ones at some events with price tags that range from $125 to about $175. Haven't seen them available for a while. I would just put a more modern seat on it if you planned on using it for work and store the original seat on a shelf.

A suggestion from the "King of Cobble"

I have quite a collection of cubs here in southern Iowa and are I'm located near several really neat tractor bone yards. While many of you probably disapprove of my methods which can be described as the "If you can see the bubble, nail it" theory, I have put all sorts of seats from various makes and models of tractors on my cubs due to the fact that I enjoy comfort over wet pants. Also, I'm so tight I can squeeze a nickel til the buffalo craps. I leave the original parts replacement to the crowd that enjoys and appreciates the perfection and attention to details that it entails. Just my opinion. I know there are many that disagree.
