Brought another one home...

Didn't think it would ever happen, but I added another one to the fleet. Ran across a clean 147 and originally got it for a parts tractor, but now I'm thinking of diving in and getting it up and going again. The 147 I had prior, has a Johnson loader and a sleeve hitch and box blade on it, and I didn't get a deck with it. The new one came with a deck. Deck spindles turn easily, and no wobble, so believe they're solid. Have the mule drive and got the deck put on last night so if I'm moving the tractor around, I'm moving all of it in one piece.
I know I'll be able to get it running, but have a slight dilemma, and looking for suggestions. The new one is missing most of the front clutch, but I have a full, functional clutch on the other one that will never be used. Would you pull the clutch from one to place on the other, or purchase a new/refurb one and put it on the other tractor?

Couple of shots of the new one still on the trailer, pulled into the shop next to its sister, and shots of dragging both into the shop. Disregard the green stuff in the shop too..... The right hand man did the steering on both pulls, almost a year apart. The first one got drug into the shop by a green zero turn, and at least this time, the 147 was pulled off the trailer by another 147.
Also a funny coincidence that both of them have the passenger taillight busted out. Have a pair of replacements, but was waiting to put them on until the first tractor was refurbished.

2 x 147s, awesome.

I really like that Johnson loader you've got, really compact and slick looking setup.

As far as the clutch, I would lean towards getting another one for the new tractor. Remember you're likely in for a fight to get the old one off 147 #1 and it probably needs a rebuild anyway. Just pick up a ready to go clutch and make #2 a mower.

Good call Saturn. As much of a fight getting the clutch off #1 would be, I don’t really like the price tags on some of the clutch’s I’ve been finding, and could possibly end up getting into that fight. I have a 60” ZTR that does the mowing, but when I hand off mowing duties to little man, I’d rather have him learn on a (inexpensive) tractor than a Zero turn. I love the loader. Can’t count how many times its lifted things that I didn’t have to. Does a fairly good job at digging, as long as the ground isn’t too hard. And if it is, I rip it first, and then pick it up. I did change out the factory Johnson 2 spool valve for a 3 spool so i wouldn’t have to switch out the bucket quick connects to connect and power the rear lift. The little Brinly box blade is worth its weight in gold also. Until you break the cast lift arm when getting too frisky with it. Again, disregard the green stuff on the little loader. Had to make due with what I had laying around.

I hear ya on the replacement clutches, they aren't giving them away. :beerchug:
