Need help with gas leak from carburetor
Hello all. I’m new here and a novice at working on engines. I had a gas leak coming from the carb of my Cub Cadet 125. I ordered a new carb and installed it. Now the leak is worse. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

The leak is more then likely not from the carb then. Start at the tank
and look for leaks in the hose and fittings. You also have a glass sediment bowl between tank and carb that has a shutoff below it. Also has a gasket. Good chance one or both of those is leaking. Simple to replace. Sounds like a good time to replace fuel lines, fittings and clean it all up including tank. If that stops your leak I would put the Kohler Carb back on it. Unless you replaced it with Kohler, most folks don't. Good luck, let us know what you find. Ken |
Where'd you get the carb?
I got one from isavetractors.com that came with a bad float. His carb worked worse than the original. |
My bad on referring to the carb as a Kohler carb. I believe if its the
original one it would be a Carter. :beerchug: Ken |
Thanks!
Thanks for the help guys. I took it back apart and reassembled it and it no longer leaks. I'm guessing something just wasn't seated property. Thanks again!!!
