New mower recommendation.

I may be interested in a new mower/lawn tractor & have no idea of what to buy. I only have 0.6 acres that I cut once per week for 7-8 months , but I am a disabled vet & it is getting hard for to to use a push mower. Just looking online at new CC’ s has me interested in a XT2 LX42. It seems to be well built & I like Kawasaki engines. I also like a Kohler 7000, too. I do not trust a B & S Intel or Kohler Courage & I don’t know anything about the durability of a CC engine, either. I would consider the CC 30” rear engine, but was told to avoid those.
Any recommendations will be appreciated, especially from people with experiences with these engines & their transmissions . Thanks

There is a BIG difference between a mower and a tractor. I assume you are wanting a tractor ??

I would be interested in a riding mower or smaller lawn tractor

I don't have any experience with the newer stuff, as my newest cub is 2014. If you like a rider (not a zero turn), then the XT2 LX42 looks like a well suited mower for your duties of mowing the yard. However, I did read that out of 7 reviews, 3 of them were bad ones. Seems the electrical components aren't what they should be, particularly the starter switch module. The front end also looks like a Transformer (BumbleBee).:biggrin2:

If you plan on moving gravel, mulch, dirt, (probably not snow in your area), or other heavy duty lawn work (hauling wood, rock, etc.), then you may want to go with a tougher one, like the XT3 GSX series.

Nothing but grass here in Florida. Thanks.

I strongly suggest you forget the new(er) tractors and find a 1641 Cub Cadet. $4-$800 will get you in business for a mostly trouble free tractor that will run a long time and do a great job.

I have a great running 1529 that may last for years, if I can get the spindles repaired or replaced. I have an ongoing thread about it.
This mower has a 19hp Kawasaki that runs great with a good transmission, too.

You could buy new spindles for that mower. Cheaper than buying a new mower.

My 1529 has 460 hours on it & needs numerous repairs, but nothing major, other than spindles. Is 460 hrs a lot ? I take good care of everything own.

Around here 460 hrs. would be like buying a brand new one.
But it really depends if you want to work on it or not. Everything
requires upkeep, even new. Good luck.:beerchug:
