Rear bush hog/finish mower on a 128

I've been thinking more about my next project and with a recent acquisition (shown here) the path forward has been simplified.

It may be a few months before I get into this with any real progress as my motor grader crapped a hydro (or it's crappiness has surfaced, not sure if I inherited this issue or caused it). More on that on the grader thread.

Anyway, thought I'd share this find...

Do you have a rear pto on the 128?

Yep.

Currently is set up with a custom hydraulic dump trailer. Not much use for this since I have a Kubota BX23.

And, if I'm not mistaken, looks like the reverser will take a male 1-1/8 six spline shaft, so I think I can get/make a male/male extension and still use the trailer.

Any idea where I might find specs/user manual for the Reverser? Looked in the tech library and didn't see anything.

Looks simple enough, but would be nice to have some documentation.

Use the BX, it already has a 540 PTO and if you need a finish mower let me know I have one I'd like to sell.

That would be too easy, Sam. I already have a 5 ft bush hog on my Ford 2000 so it's not like I need one for the Cub. The BX has the backhoe on it most of the time and it has a 60 inch belly mower as well.

It's about making something useful for the rear PTO more than anything.

What is the rotation direction, and rpm of those ptos? They obviously would not be live pto. Are they hard to find??

What I posted is a Hub City "Reverser." It converts the rear PTO (option on some gear drive Cubs--not that common really) from CCW/511 rpm with 1-1/8 inch 6 spline shaft to CW/540 rpm with 1-3/8 6 spline shaft, the general industry standard.

Since the Cub rear PTO is backwards and a different speed it really never had any practical use. So Hub City came out with the Reverser to make it useable with common rear implements.

The Reverser is even rarer than a rear PTO on a Cub. Expect to pay $750 to $1000 for one.

The rear PTO on a Cub can be engaged and disengaged from the seat via a small lever in front of the right rear wheel.
