Need 'plug' that goes at bottom of steering column

I was rebuilding 147 steering column on work bench. Took it apart cleaning in pans. Then sat for awhile somehow I misplaced screw in plug at bottom of column. I've looked everywhere, 2 and 3 times, the shop 'ferries' must of needed one.. Went to dealer got all other parts but no plug. Checked advertisers nothing unavailable. Anyone have one they would sell? Thanks.

Just thinking out loud hear... But that plug should be standard pipe threads, so why not figure out the size needed (maybe someone knows off the top of their head) and go to Fastenal, Grainger, HD, Lowes etc and get a pipe plug for a couple of bucks max, verses $10.00 - $20.00 for one. Just throwing that it there. :beerchug: But then again I could be totally wrong. :bigthink:

Problem with that is, the plug that they came with has a bunch of deep slots in it so that it can be held in place with a cotter pin, so that it doesn't fall out. It just sits loosely in there, you don't tighten it against anything, so the cotter pin is needed to hold it in place.

I looked at the plug pic from IHCCW, and thought that it might just be a generic pipe thread plug. Thanks for the explanation. :beerchug:

It's not just a plug!
It's a machined retainer and adjuster for the bearings and worm gear shaft.

I need the one with all the slots,so as to lock with the pin. Ckd all the advertisers cant seem to find it per part number,and plug,not listed from what I've seen. Or its saying not available. Maybe someone is better at finding part. Thank you for all the info. I thought about a plumbing part.
