Tire Pressure??

3 Attachment(s)
Few Weeks ago, i visited a Oldtimer Plow Day with my red Cub Cadet 782. The Field was a heavy Ground, and it was hard to plow. The Power of the Cub was enough, but the left Rear Wheel slipped all the Time.
So i tried to reduce the Pressure in the Tires.

Whats the right Pressure for the 23x10.50x23 AG Tyres, and 16x6.50x8 Firestone 3 Ribs?

The Pic with the Plow is an older one, with the old Hub Caps, and the old Front Tires.

thanks, Georg

Hello Germany!! Neat to have a member across the ocean. Was the motor still hot when your original got there? lol! Just yesterday I reduced the tire pressure in the front wheels of my nf.

Try looking for some posts where people have made their own. Also xtrememotorworks has an item that mounts on your rim and then you add regular weight-lifting weights. Do you have fluid in the tires? That'll help out alot.

You have several options when it comes to adding weight. One way is to add fluid to the tires. Depending on how cold your area gets you can use water to a liquid that doesn't freezes. I would recomend you use innner tubes if you go that route.

Another way is to add wheel weight. Some buy factory weights. I use this set up on 2 of my Cubs.

Here are few pictures of the weight bracket:

The weights are 10 pound barbell weights that were purchase from wal mart.

I usually run 20-30 pounds heavier on the land side( left side) than the furrow side.
Here a topic that may help:

Might take grinder with wire wheel shine up plow that helps the dirt slide across plow better. Just a thought paint puts more drag on the dirt. The weight could be added by drinking more beer!:bigthink:

Hi,

today, i plowed the Garden of a Friend of mine, with my Cub, with lower Tire Pressure. I tried it with 8 PSI, and it goes good, but i must sit on the left Side of the Tractor, the most Time.

I think, i will install some Weights in the Wheels,
