I'm trying to find a replacement ignition switch for my Cub Cadet Model 1250. My switch has 4 stabs whereas all the ones I find on the internet are 3 or 5 stabs. To get to the correct engine diagrams I need my model's year. My serial number is 2050630U638629. Can anyone tell me what year this is? Also, I am being prompt to add more numbers to the 1250. Thanks!

Your tractor was built in October 1978. The last 6 numbers on your S/N, 638629, determine this. The rest denotes the model of tractor, which is indeed a 1250. The "U" means built in the US.

Keep the tractor under cover when not in use to avoid such problems in the future,
Electronical equipment does not like moisture.
A dab of dielectric grease on the terminal spades may aid as well.
