Haban 402D

A neighbor called me up from his travels today, after he spotted a 402D Haban for sale. Of course I need one for the 107, why not...? Looks to be very lightly used and the price was right, so I had him pick it up. Will know more (and try to post a few pictures tomorrow), but the only thing it is apparently missing according to seller, is the pivot pipe (Haban's part name) that goes to the rear draw bar, along with the draw bar hitch plate and rubber isolator assembly.

I wasn't too worried about the latter two, since I can probably conjur something up from photos, but as far as the pipe goes - I know it's got a dog leg bend in it. Are the bends in the same plane? If that's the case, measurements may not be too hard to come up with. Not sure if anyone can measure one for me (or maybe someone with a 402D is located close to Harrisburg, PA that I could borrow one to fabricate up a duplicate). And if someone is in the generous measuring mood and wanted to sketch up that draw bar plate, it'd be much appreciated.

Also, thinking ahead, does anyone have current belt #s for the 2 V-belts?

Thanks all,

Dan

Couple of pictures; I'd definitely say it led a pretty easy life. Breaking it down to clean up and hopefully can get some input on the couple of missing pieces mentioned in my first post.

Was that from Elizabethville?

sorry, I dont have the belt #'s for you. Mine are different as it is for my farmall cub - on the 107 you are gonna want wheel weights if you dont have them - put them both on the side opposite the sickle bar

sorner - neighbor said the guy was in Berrysburg; apparently he had a bunch of other CC items too.

Thanks spnd - I do have the wheel weights should I ever decide to use it rather than just show it off. I think I'll find my way to the correct belts too, thanks to another neighbor with some old belts books and finding the manual online that calls out a B-51 for the one and a 33 1/2" 3V for the other.

Looks like 1 1/4" pipe to fabricate the missing pivot pipe.

I looked on the map. Berrysburg is just north of Elizabethville. I saw his post on Facebook, they have lots of stuff. His Facebook post says Elizabethville. I was interested in the 122 with chipper he has posted but I think I’m going to pass because I just don’t have room. He’s only 30-40 minutes from me.

That looks like it; I'm not on the Book of Faces, so likely that's where the neighbor found it. I just supplied the $ - he even hauled it. He did mention the chippers; I guess one on the 122 was complete, the other was missing some parts - sounded like he would have sold just the chipper alone - if you want that and not the tractor too. Money was about the same for the sickle or the chipper, so I went with the sickle, even though it's missing a few parts too.

Yeah he gave me a price for the tractor and for the tractor with chipper.

I’ve made the rear pipe your looking for, I work commercial construction and had the electrician bend some 1 1/2” (I think)EMT. It was actually a goof and was headed to scrap. There was a guy making the rear hanger for a while, I think he was selling on eBay!? This all was about 5 years ago.

Thanks JM - I did talk to a few people in the CC circles today and confirmed that at least the drawbar plate was being reproduced awhile back, but it looks like when demand dried up, so did production. I might be able to get a copy of the fabrication drawings that were used, but not counting on that, so it looks like I'll be working up something to get from Point A to Points B and C, so to speak.

Thinking maybe I'll get the shape of the pivot pipe with easier-to-manipulate PVC first unless someone on the board here with a Haban is nice enough to take some measurements of it and the drawbar plate. Maybe these are even less common than I thought? Seem to get a few hits on others with them when searching the site.
