Original volt meter
What's the correct placement for a voltmeter on an original?
|
Did they even make one? I've certainly never seen one on an O. Don't recall seeing anything of it in any of the manuals either, but I could be wrong.

Very interesting! I looked through all 3 manuals for it but there seems to be no recognition of it anywhere, not even in the electrical system diagram.
All I managed to find was this image, but don't that look like an hour meter?? https://www.farmshow.com/images/arti.../6/15236_l.jpg Then I found this dash for sale, but that 2nd hole looks like a PO mod spot for an ammeter. You can still see the corner of the IH logo that woulda been there https://www.picclickimg.com/00/s/MTI...63-DASH-_1.jpg Guess it isn't a very common feature |
Yes, that is a hobbs hour meter in the pix.
Back in those days, not a lot of bells and whistles were available. But I defect to those that are more familiar with the originals. If they did have a charge indicator it would be an ammeter, not a volt meter as was the norm back in the day |
The only device available "at that time", was a Ammeter as an accessory.

it's right there in the parts book and the instruction sheet that came with it indicated the left side of the tower IIRC
I have a picture but for some reason It will not upload. |
