1641 with Briggs 16hp
 
Does anyone still have a copy of the service manual for the 16 hp eng used on the 1641. Need a copy if still available. Trying to find the correct valve lash adjustments. Thanks

Valve clearance is .004 intake, .006 exhaust.

Roll the crankshaft clockwise when viewed from the flywheel end until the piston is TDC. Continue until piston is 1/4" down in the hole. Adjust the valves.

Huh, last week the vanguard manual I consulted said .006 & .009. Continued lack of compression led me to pull the head and find a migrated valve guide and broken seal on the RHS exhaust :(
