Ok to mix oil brands?

Changing the oil on a Cub Cadet 1250.

In a rush, I ordered just 1 quart of Kohler 30W Oil. :bash:

Looks like the capacity is 1.5 qt, so I'm short. Would it be bad if I went down to the auto part store and got some 30W of another brand and added it?

Don't want to have to wait for delivery of another quart of the Kohler oil.

Edit:
Another option - My local TSC has Kohler 10W-30 Synthetic-Blend Premium Oil

I guess I could just drain the Kohler 30W conventional oil I just added, then replace with the Kohler 10W-30 Synthetic-Blend from TSC. Getting two new quarts ($6.50 each) of that would cost about the same as ordering the Kohler 30W conventional online again ($13).

Thoughts?

I have in a pinch....that being said my engine is a 60/40 engine. (burns 60% gas 40% oil) If I had a recent rebuild on it I would be more hesitant to do so.

It's far worse to run it with low or without any oil at all.

oil is oil, some is better than none!
