Using tractor without implements
I have a cc125 that i use around the yard to pull stuff with a dump cart. The mowing deck is shot for now and i was thinking i should remove the mule drive and deck frame?
I was thinking it could get caught on something when pulling stuff and it also adds to noise and vibration maybe. Also, There is no pto belt installed but i was wondering if the pto should be pressing in on the pulley or not when i am using it without implements? |

The PTO Pulley should not be spinning when disengaged. It wouldn't hinder anything if it were engaged with no belt on it. |
Thanks for the tip. My yard is pretty hilly and theres always debris to manuever around so perhaps i could use the extra clearance.
Stupid question, i thought the mule drive in front with the pulley was one piece with quick attach arms for a deck..... those are two seperate contraptions, correct? |

Take the deck, mule drive and deck carriage off. Leave the PTO engaged so that you don't put excessive wear on the button for the PTO lever.

Couldn't agree more, word for word.:beerchug:

I noticed the pulley for the PTO belt spins no matter which way I have the clutch lever engaged.
That means the clutch needs adjusting right? |
If the deck blades are spinning with the PTO disengaged you may need to adjust it. Read the manual in the tech library section

Oddly enough, I was just reading about this the other day in my manual. Although it is for the 100, I think it should still apply. It said whenever using the tractor with no implements attached that use the PTO, engage the PTO to prevent unnecessary wear.
