149 hydro lift ports.

Hello, I have a 149 that I want to remove the hydraulic lift mechanism. I have come with conflicting answers on what to do with the ports of the lines? Should they capped off individually or connected together with a new line? Thank you in advance. Jason

Connect them with a "return loop".

If you block off the ports (or hoses) that went to the valve, the pump will be under constant load,
1) making it hard to start the engine
2) heating the oil excessively
3) rapidly wearing out the pump
4) increasing fuel consumption.
and more negative things,,,

The easiest thing to do is disconnect the two hoses from the valve, and couple them together (NOT the cylinder hoses, the other two!! :bigthink: )

:biggrin2:

Why would you want to do away with the hydraulic lift??
