New guy with a 102

Hi everyone,
I'm excited to be a new member on this site. I'm from northern California and have some acreage that I currently farm on. Just got my first cc around a month ago. I have a few larger tractors and plenty of implements and enjoy working on and restoring old American built tractors, tools and implements. Was looking for a garden tractor for a while mainly to pull my various carts, sprayers and trailers. I have a 2006 John deere la150 with the 26hp briggs and have been afraid that I will break it while pulling a 100 gallon fertilizer sprayer I built. With that John deere, the hydrostat rear axle is the weak point and doesn't pull trailers and spike narrows very well. That's what led me to find an older garden tractor. I ended up getting the cub cadet 102 for a decent deal it's kinda rough but mechanically in good condition. It also came with a box blade / box scraper which I thought was pretty neat. Figured I could use the box blade to level out one of my yards after I rototill it this spring. From what I've read the ih model 40 box blade is a rare and desirable item. Its definitely used but useable. Any thoughts on if I should use it or not? I buy old equipment to fix up to like new condition and then use it, not really a collector as much as someone who appreciates how well equipment was made. Given a little care and attention they are superior to newer equipment imo. (Will try to upload pics of 102 and the box blade)
