Cub cadet original

I've got the Cub Cadet Original going now. I have to address some things before I can mow with it. I have a frame crack right where the front of the mower attaches to the back (Tranny), on the bottom by the bolt holes. I am thinking about splitting it and welding it back up and then ill be up and ready. The front tires have a lot of play in them. If you were to go on the side, and push it both tires go back and force, sort of like a bearing would be out on the back tires. I'm guessing a bushing goes there but what type of bushing?

The slop in the front is usually, (a) worn steering knuckle shaft, (b) worn wheel bushings, (c) or both.

The steering knuckle(s) can be repaired or replaced. Just have to look at Salvage Yards like, from the Sponsors above, for replacements. The bushings are still available as new, they can be had also (ccspecialties).

What size would the bushing need to be?

It would fit on the 7/8" Knuckle Shaft.
