Ok guys ... here is the lead up ...

My tractor was running fine, plow was lifting and lowering fine. The tractor drove forward and reverse fine. Apparently I had a relief valve fail , or so I thought.

I was plowing a light storm a couple inches and all of a sudden I had no hyd to my plow. The tractor would drive foreword and reverse fine still. I got it into the garage, backed it in, and shut it off. I found it was a bit low on hyd fluid, just at bottom 1/4” of dipstick. I added oil to the full mark, restarted tractor, let run. I did not try any hyd function, shut it off, rechecked hyd oil, just under full mark , topped back up to full. Restarted tractor let warm up properly , I had forward and reverse , but still no plow hyd. I noticed that both reliefs were leaking out the “blow off” hole.

I removed and did the rebuild on one relief. Reinstalled, started tractor, had forward and reverse still, but no plow hyd. The second relief was still leaking, I removed that one, rebuilt it and reinstalled this morning. Now .... now still have NO plow hydraulics, I have forward but NO reverse. Neither relief is leaking from blow off hole.

Any thoughts ? Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated!

First, you make NO mention of the Cub Cadet model of tractor that you are working on.

Next, were the Relief Valves professionally rebuilt ??

Have you replaced the Hydro Filter ??

Lastly, do the Spool Valve(s) seem to function correctly ??

Just a suggestion with no disrespect to your post......
Not every individual is familiar with the bugs that haunt all of the models of tractors out there,
but some individuals are very familiar with problems that occur in one particular model.
It might help you get responses to your problem from someone that may be familiar
with it if you mention your tractor model in your post. :beerchug:

As far as “ professionally” rebuilt , yes .... I did them myself! It’s NOT rocket science! I cut them apart with a lathe , I carefully cleaned and replace the o- rings, then I very carefully welded them back together!

Yes , the oil was just changed along with the filter , it has less than 4 hours run time on the hyd oil change.

Yes the valve is working properly , the under carriage lift is working properly. So I guess that question does help me rethink , so the plow issue must be from the quick connects out to the cyl and back to the quick connector.

Is there a main relief in the 2 section spool valve?

Again I do sincerely apologize for not mentioning the model .... I actually thought I had a “signature” that listed it.

Are you saying that the plow will lift and lower OK but the power angle to turn the blade is not working? :bigthink:

If your power angle is not working, but lift is, check that you didn't uncouple a
quick disconnect coupling, it happens:bigthink:

No .... I only have lift / lower hydraulically, angle is manual.

The issues are no power to plow (lift, lower) and NO reverse.

Swap the valves. Then see if you have no reverse.

My guess is that you have two problems.:bigthink:

1st one of the check valves is bad, that explains the no reverse.
2nd you have sheard a spirol pin in the rock shaft. that explains the no lift.

Take the tunnel cover off and watch the rock shaft as you try lift and lower.
If part #1 moves and part #2 doesn't you have sheared the spirol pins. This is common with Haban snow plows if you don't use the connector link that connects part #1 and #2

Xtreme sells one that they call a "Cyclops push blade reinforcement bracket" it fits the 72 series and the early Cyclops series.
