HELP-1811 cub will not start
Just bought a 1811 in great shape. Was mowing today for about 1 hour, shut it down and went in for a drink of water. Wont start now, turn the key and just get a clicking noise from under the seat on the left side from a small 3" switch. I tried to find the starter to tap on it but I cant find the darn thing. Im some what mechanical with cars and trucks but this is a different beast for me. Any and help would be much appreciated.
Eric Well I went out after it cooled down a checked all the obvious connections, didnt find anything loose or broken. Tried to start again just got the same clicking sound. Threw jumper cables to it with my truck and it started right up. Im assuming its a bad alternator Any suggestion ? |

Probably a bad regulator/resister but at about $58 a piece youed best use your multi meter and do some tests and look for shorts or blown fuses.
You can find where and what to test for in the manuals. |
First, make sure the Battery is fully charged.
You could have a bad Starter Solenoid or a bad Starter. |
Check the above things, if your battery is discharged, then check for something that may be discharging while you are running....I had the same issue and replaced the solenoid but also found that the air gap was out of adjustment on the electric PTO causing the battery to discharge when it was running.
