1650 no spark after PTO switch connector melted
Tractor was running fine then it stalled out with electrical smoke under dash. Found the connector on back of PTO switch melted. fixed melted connection and now no spark. Can this be related to PTO wiring? Engine cranks over just no spark. Any help appreciated. Thanks

First, welcome to OCC................. :Welcome2:
The first thing to check would be the "points". See if they are clean and making continuity. |
I think I may have figured it out. There was also a wire that melted 1 terminal on back of ignition switch. Ordering new switch and will see what happens. Thanks for response.

Dirty and corroded terminals cause high amp load creating heat that melts stuff and lets all the smoke out of the wires.
Not good. Check and clean all terminals where they connect to switches and jct's. Wiring connections and the terminals they connect to need to be clean bright and tight |
