147 electric lift woos
 

Just picked up a 147 with electric lift however I can not get the lift to work. I got it to work intermittently but it wouldn’t lift all the way up and it was slow. The tractor has sat since mid summer since the guy stoped using it cause it was to slow and he got something faster. But when I test the plug I get almost no reading it reads 0.001 I’m hoping there is a bad connection somewhere I got the lift to work previously by jiggling the wires. I really hope the lift isn’t bad. I bought the tractor cause it was at a really good price but was heastent at first because of the lift and now it looks like I was right, especially after seeing these are a common problem and are so expensive to fix.Pictures of the tractor below.

Nice pickup. Heres the good news. There are other ways to lift implements besides the electric lift!

Are you measuring resistance? Voltage?

If voltage, where are you measuring the voltage? At the lift? Do you have one lead on the hot lead of the lift and the other to ground?

I would unplug it at the connection at the e lift motor, and then test it. Put a (-) to the lift body, and then run a (+) one to one lead on the plug.

Went out and did what darkminon said I’m getting power to the plug but the lift won’t move. :bash2::beatdeadhorse:
So I’m gonna say the lift is dead, just my luck guess it won’t be staying and will be listed as it’s not worth it to me to fix. I thought I got the tractor at a decent price but I guess not

Got one layin on the shelf in my barn and can be had

Why condemn the tractor over the lift? Kinda like throwing the baby out with the bathwater.. IMO

Lets just say I’m gonna end up paying more to fix or replace the lift then I paid for the tractor.

Welcome to the joys of CC ownership. You can usually buy a whole tractor than what you can buy a handful of parts for. Just how it goes.

I'd look into an aftermarket linear actuator, or swap it for the armstrong lift. It has a spring assist and the 3pt on the back so it's got things going for it.
