Driveshaft on a 123
What's the easiest method anyone has for removing/replacing a driveshaft on a 123? Thanks!

When I replaced the driveshaft on 125, I did what this other forum member does: https://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/...6&postcount=19
It's a good way to clean the crud off outside of the pump while you're at it. Inspect the linkage and swash plate, too! |
When I got my 123 it had been setting in a barn for over 10 years so I did as the post above said and pulled it in two and as long as I had it that far apart I took the back cover plate off, cleand out all the oil and gunk the was in the case, then I drilled and taped a drain hole in the buttom of the case. as long as I hade the back cover off and the drill and tap set out I drilled and taped a fill hole on the top of the case.
I also placed a small magnet insaid the case near the drain hole jest becouse I had one and the case was open. I put it all back together and filled it up to the fill hole on the back cover plate , so now when/if I need to change Hyd oil in it I can do so with out pulling the back cover off. Joe |
