Alternate bagger model cross reference?
 

I have a 1996 2140, that I am looking for a bagger for. My model according to the manual takes a model 190-305-100, which my only option really is finding a used one, which is proven to be a challenge. Buying the parts separately is not an option as it is way more expensive than I want to spend to bag grass.

Does anyone know if there is a comparable or cross reference model number that would be a good or exact fit? I can't find anything online.

I have 2 different tractors with "non matching" baggers. It didnt take much to adapt them to work. I did use Cub cadet made baggers which probably helped some.

I was kind of thinking of doing that as well, I can cut and weld metal and any two bin bagger should work as long as I can hang it and get a tight fit to the deck.

You can get a 3 bagger on that unit.. Ive found in my neck of the woods they are more abundant.


Not for nuthin, Years ago I had a crapsman tractor. I made a discharge piece for deck out of duct material that went from rectangular to round. The I used some corrugated 5" tubing to connect to a large yard trash can. I cut a center hole in the lid and made some vent holes. I was able to bag my clippings and leaves with it. It worked great! And it didnt cost much to make.

This is making me think outside the box on another project I've got going on. I'm putting a twin on a Snapper, I don't think the factory bagger is going to fit, there's a whole bunch of places in my yard that the Snapper wont fit with the bagger on it, and I'm gonna need a wheelie bar if I let the kids cut grass. I can fix ALL of that with a couple pieces of ductwork, some conduit, and the neighbor's garbage can.

I wasn't sure I had enough vacuum for that, but good to know, there are more 3 bagger units for sale locally used than the standard double.

I envisioned which ever I get, I will have to modify somewhat with duct or plastic. Most likely some sheet metal screws and washers to keep it in place.

If you try the trash can idea.. You absolutely have to vent it. I made my large hole for the tube in the center. I then cut 1/2" holes all over the lid for ventilation.

Any High Vac deck should have sufficient flow to use a stock bagger or one homemade like i mentioned

I'm running a 19.5 HP opposed twin engine on a 28" hi vac deck with factory wings on the blades, I'm concerned that it might have sufficient flow to hover!

The garbage can mount will literally double as a functional wheelie bar for me, and I think I'm gonna have to add front weights.

Where the heck did ya get a 28" hi vac deck for that?

I get all three of my bags pretty full with damp grass and yes the front will get a little lite and I could make it do a wheelie when full but it is easily controlled.
