What material is "the button" part #9 in the diagrams linked above
made out of? How thick is it supposed to be?
Mine is missing so I assume I'm doing some damage to my PTO when I use it.

I was thinking of making one from teflon...

I’m not sure what the original ones are made of, but member Jeff in PA (Parts by Jeff at the top of the page) makes reproductions out of brass.

The original ones were a graphite material, but the one I bought as a replacement cracked on the shaft part during assembly. The next replacement I bought was made of bronze, found on ebay I believe.

I know that teflon would hold up all that well.
