Quick ? Lift Arm ?
 

I have searched and can't seem to find a good pic of the lift arm that goes

from the lift (below) brake pedals to the Plow or Dozer blade.

I am putting a plow blade on my 1872 , I have built the mount from blade to

tractor. Its a weird angle from the lifter below the pedals to the blade. I realize

that I can't use a "stock" lift arm but just hoping to see a better view of some.

My plow mount is also shop built for the 54" power angle snow blade to the 1872. I hope this picture will help. And I will mention now that the additional link between the plow lift arm and the closest deck lift arm is a good idea to beef up your chances of successful plowing. Sam Mac provided a good photo of this link, maybe I can find it to add.

This "reinforcing link" you really feel its needed to lift a plow blade ?

I've got the plow attached to the tractor , I am now mocking up the lift arm and linkage for it.

The only issue I can see thus far is a clearance problem with the front axle. Looks like I may need to do some mitre cuts to get up and over it.

I think if you are going over the front axle, the blade lift is accomplished by a pull on the lift arm. My setup is under the axle and a push to raise the blade.

Raising the blade is not the load that will shear pins and/or brake welds, it is the sudden shock of hitting some immovable (fixed, solid) object while plowing. It happens!

Yes , the arm will be retracting toward the tractor to lift the blade.

Ahh , a hit to force the blade to lift ..... maybe I'll start with a gr.2 bolt as a fuse to start.

Maybe I can get some pics up later ....... maybe I'm biased but I think it looks good , LOL. (prolly looks like a pile of S#*T)

Ok here is an update ..... mocked up a lift arm , well that didn’t work ! At first I didn’t get any lift , I was unaware that I had to put a bold in the plate that aligns with the plate on the end of the lift cylinder. Once I figured that out , the first pull of the valve handle bent the bracket the lift arm is attached to on the blade. Apparently we are going back to the drawing board ....... ideas are welcome !
