1250 Oil Fill/Dip Stick Tube
2 Attachment(s)
Hello all. I just recently purchased a 1250. After a few hours of use, i noticed that the oil fill/dip stick tube was loose. As soon as i touched it, it came off in my hand (see pictures). Upon further inspection, it appears that it was repaired with JB Weld in the past. Has this happened to anyone in the past? If so, what repair will be the most durable? Thank you in advance?

Its hard to see what ya got there.. Is the other piece still in the block? To answer your question. Yes I have seen broken ones before.
heres a used one on ebay. Not sure if this is a good price or not. It still may be available new also https://www.ebay.com/i/192845474009?chn=ps Oh and BTW Welcome to OCC! |
The existing dip stick (the one that came off of the tractor) has a flange where it mounts to the engine block. It looks different than the one on eBay. I will further inspect the engine block to see if part of the dip stick tube is still in the hole. I am suspecting that PO repaired the tube with a non-factory part. I will advise on what i come up with.
Thanks for the assistance. |
Just a quick update. After further investigation, i found that the dip stick tube was sheared off flush with the hole in the engine block. It seems to be a pretty simple fix as the hole were the tube connects to the block appears to be removable after taking out a few bolts. I had two 1450 parts tractors (the tube appears to be slightly different on these) that i should be able to steal parts from to make a repair.

the tube has a light press fit when new ,but your tube is broken so just replace the assembly
