1650 Dual Hydro No Forward or Reverse
1 Attachment(s)
Hello All,
Just did a motor swap in my 1650 CC. When I parked the mower a few months ago the tranny worked fine, forward reverse with lots of power. Within the last few days I managed to swap my new motor in however I don't have forward or reverse but the hydraulic lift works perfectly fine. I did notice my manual dump valves seem to be stuck but I'm not sure if this is the issue. Any suggestions? |
Stick valves would certainly do it.

Clean the area well and soak 'em down w/your favorite oil.
Or, clean the area well, pull 'em out and clean. How long ago, if ever, has the oil and filter been changed?? |
Not sure when it was last serviced, the motor snapped a connecting rod right after I purchased it. It was quite low on fluid though.
|
But being stuck in the compressed position would prevent the forward and reverse from working?

You should also check that the drive shaft has not broken a spirol pin and that when you crank the engine, the hydro input shaft is actually turning. You can look at the rear of the hydro, there is an output shaft, that will turn as well. Sometimes a spirol pin will shear, and it's not obvious. |
Thanks guys, I'll let you know what I can find out
