Front wheels for a 44" deck

Anyone install the OEM front wheel kit on a 44" deck that had the runners on? Wondering if you removed the runners? Anyone have the mounting instructions?
Deck is going on a 1650.

Having the deck height adjusted properly is far better than wheels,,

If you want to stop collisions of the deck with the ground,,
add rollers instead of tires, like the Ariens decks use,,

If you gotta have wheels, use this type wheel, this type will not need a caster that rotates,,

That is the wheel that is on my Cub Cadet mower deck,,,

They are the wheels I was referring to and on a nice level yard one would not need them. I have them on a 48" deck on my 147 and would not do without them. If you saw my yard you would understand. Cub offered a kit for the 44 and 50 inch decks used on the 1650 and similar model tractors. Although not made for the 48" deck the PO of my tractor installed them.

Meanwhile my question has not been answered. Does Cub recommend they get installed in line with the rear wheels? Putting the wheels on a deck for my son who has hit stuff and pushed the front of the deck in.

There is a service bulletin on the installation of those wheels and brackets for a 44c, maybe you can goooooogle it.

I cut a set off of a rusted deck and put them on a good shell. They do line up with the back wheels. I took the skids off. There’s a NOS set on flea-pay right now, 759-3253.

Thanks for the info. I got a pair of used ones cut off a rusted deck as you did. I did find a listing of the service kit with instructions, but the resolution makes it hard to be able to read the installation location dimensions. I thought they should be in line, but wanted to make sure. Thanks again for the help.

I bought an OEM kit, complete with wheels, brackets and instructions as shown many years ago. Still have it somewhere as I never used them. If you need additional help, let me know and I'll dig them out.

Yes, it would be nice to have a good photo or scan of the instructions to verify location. I would think the wheels should line up front to back as mortten has posted.

Scroll down to post #28. This is a 44" deck with the wheels factory installed.

A seller on ebay was kind enough to scan the instructions and provide a very readable location dimensions for the brackets.
