Grill shells
 

Did all the narrow frame cadets have the heavy cast iron grill shells like my 147, and did any of the wide frames have them?

All of the narrow frame have a cast iron grill shell. The wide frames had cast iron lower grill shells up until the later years of the Quiet Lines when they went to cast aluminum.
