CC982 hydraulic input coupler
Hi guys! I just bought a CC 982 a couple of weeks ago. Can anyone give me some directions in what they have done to repair or replace the coupler for the hydrostat from the driveshaft. Will any coupler work from another model? I haven't found anything searching the web. I just bought the machine 2 weeks ago and the first time I was playing around with it pushing snow the roll pin snapped. Pulled it into the garage and there was a lot of slop in the coupler. I tore it down today and there are no splines left in there. Also there is a brass bushing in there. Was this stock? There are a couple chipped splines on the input shaft of the hydro, so I'm not sure what my best options are. Any help? Thanks

Look at the parts area. Jeff in Pa makes a replacement coupler. Yes the bushing is stock.

Thanks for the info cubdieselfan. I appreciate it.
Yeah he for some reason didn't mention it when I looked at it. lol I got it for $700, so I still don't think i'm doing to bad on it. Thanks guys! |
That's my coupler ( thanks for putting up your pictures CubDieselFan) and if needed, I can make the splined portion just a little longer to get into the unused portion of the splines.

You did good for $700.
Get the new rear coupler with the ball bushing installed but don't forget to check the front drive shaft flange that attaches to the engine because they wear also. For all that Jeff charges for a new drive shaft it wouldn't hurt to replace it as well. + you will need to check the flex discs(rag joints) too. Good luck! Post up some pics of the 9 for us to see it....we like pics.:biggrin2: |
I'm going to be rebuilding the worn parts on my 2072 as well when the weather breaks, so I'll be watching this thread as well.

Here she is. The PO painted her red. I think down the road I will strip it down and repaint it red. It looks decent but could be better. I'm not sure what the wheel weights came from and they rigged up a home made blade.

Looks good, except for that Michigan flag....needs to be a G for Georgia. Ha!:biggrin2:

What everyone said. I just did this 2 weeks ago on my super. Go through Jeff. He is a great guy to deal with. You were lucky you caught it before it blew apart.
