New Cub 104

Haven’t been on and posted anything in a long while but I finally have time to get on and share my new addition from over summer. It’s a ‘68, third owner and it was originally used on a farm. It came with a 42” deck and blade and the original tire chains in the original bag. After mowing with the deck it came with for a while, I figured I would use my 48” with bad spindles so I swapped spindles and have been using it ever since. Also been using it to plow snow here in PA

Nice 104, even nicer seat, rare to see the original seats on them at all let alone in great shape. I have found the 10 hp Kohler has no problem spinning a 48” deck on my lawn.

Yeah I was surprised myself when I first saw it at the condition the seat but it’s got a big split now. I sat on it on a really cold day and then came the oh no moment. But I’ve found that it has enough power to go through swamp grass with dull and nicked blades

Nice tractor. Too bad about the seat....but farting will be easier!:biggrin2:

You did well, too bad the seat split, I remove them and put a newer seat on it as the edge of the seat is hard on the butt.
Nice deck on it too.

Nice looking tractor! Too bad the seat cracked.

That’s a nice machine! I’ve got a 123 with the 48 inch deck that cuts anything well at two-thirds throttle. I also have a fairly excellent original seat. I want to put a different seat on it to preserve the original. What seat do you guys think looks best on these machines?

Does anybody reproduce the seats for the 104? I love the look of the originals, but I'm going to follow along here and see what seats everyone is replacing the originals with. :biggrin2:

I was wondering the same thing. I have a 124 with a seat that has been sat in on many cold days. I wonder if an upholstery place could re-create this look? Not sure what that would cost but I passed a small place today that did upholstery work for cars, boats and Other.......Other could be Cub Cadet Tractors right:bigthink:

I had my seat re-upholstered years ago and looks just as good as the original. Think he charged me like $10. :American Flag 1:
