First post, adding some Cub Cadets to my collection
4 Attachment(s)
I have been "into" garden tractors for a couple of decades, but never had Cub Cadets before. That is going to change starting this weekend. I found a gent with several that I plan to buy.
They are an April, 1967 104 ---(CORRECTION) actually a 102, thanks. a Nov/Dec, 1968 104 a Sept, 1971, 108 and a Aug, 1972, 128 These four all run. The seller tells me that the missing grill for the 128 is around somewhere, we just have to find it in his stash. Same with the 128 seat. There is no deck for the 102 or the 104. The '67 104 needs a complete repaint due to a very poor repaint in it's past. The others will probably get a good cleanup and preservation for now. The '68 104 might be the first to undergo a complete frame-up restoration for one of my grandsons. The seller has two or three more Cub Cadets that I have not been able to check out yet so they might be coming home with me too. |
Welcome to OCC! I look forward to seeing your progression with the restorations! :beerchug:

Nice find there! A 128 is my favorite "older" Cadet.

Nice finds, and Welcome to OCC!:Welcome2:
Also, the one in the first picture is not a 104. It is a 102. |
Good to know you! Looks like you already got yourself a good collection of Cubs! Next, you'll need to get a hydro.....
What are your other collection that you mentioned? |
Welcome !:beerchug:

Thanks IHCubCadet147, for clearing that up for me. At least now I know I'm not starting off my Cub Cadet collection with duplicates! I can work on finding all the other model numbers I don't have!
My other tractors include, in no certain order, a Bolens G-9, a Wheel Horse C-160 8 speed, an Allis Chalmers 410, a 1965 Springfield 65TE-10 (Kohler 214AS powered), a 1954 Power King, an Allis Chalmers B-210, a Simplicity built JC Penny with a 13HP Briggs engine, a Jacobsen, several rear engine riders and a couple of walk behinds. There are three or four Simplicitys where the Cub Cadets are that I will probably get as well. They are 717s, 727s,728 types. All the seller has is mostly complete tractors. He let a scrapper come in a couple of years ago a pick out anything that appeared to have major parts missing and haul it for scrap. I can't imagine what disappeared then. There are still bare spots in the grass where stuff had sat for years. There are even tractors under tarps that I have not uncovered yet. I have eyes on several other pieces locally that I will probably get soon, including a very early Sears Suburban, just after the switch from David Bradley to Suburban and a Shaw Du All. |
Billy-O, that will probably happen eventually, I just haven't happened to find a hydro yet. I do like me a stick shift though.
