Seat that screws into bottom of Carter model N
I am looking for a replacement part that screws into bottom of Carter model N carburetor. It's threaded with a screw driver slot. I think it's the main needle valve seat. You have to remove fuel bowl bolt to unscrew it.
Don't know what it's called or if you can buy one. At this point, I would machine one myself if I could find a drawing! Thanks, Scott |

I think you are referring to item #13 in the attached image. That is #385483-R91 Needle & Seat Assembly w/spring. That is now replaced by Kohler #KH-25-757-01 Carb Kit.

Pretty sure that is the inlet seat. This is actually the center seat that the needle screws into. I'm afraid I drilled it out because I couldn't remove it. I thought that is need to to come out and be cleaned separately but it would not unscrew so I drilled it out thinking it was with the rebuild kit but it isn't. You live and learn I guess..:bash2:

opps:bash2: Good thing is you can get a used carb, or a china carb from ebay. Post what you need and one of the guys here might be able to fix you up with one,--- or one of our sponsors @ the top of the page. Usually a person just rounds off the screwdriver slot, but I've been guilty of having some that just wouldn't come loose. I've made a stubby screwdriver that I sandwich between vice jaws so it won't back out, and still had problems. See if there is a number on the damaged jet, as some carbs have one.Not only is the jet sized, but the cross holes in the tube are sized also. You are not the first, and I guarantee you are not the last to do that. |
I sent you a PM about an emulsion tube.
