Son got his first cub 122
My 9 year old has been after a Cub bad, been surfing the web etc, now he is in pretty bad shape lawn mower wise... He has a Husky, John Deer 214, now a Cub Cadet 122. Sorry no pics, we tinkered with it a good while today, it's not in the best of shape, and has been hacked on in places, however he loves it.. and gave it a good break in today. I'm not sure how the rate the HP, but it seems just a peppy as my 1450

That's great Clint. Now your son has Yellow Fever! :beerchug:

Clint,
Tell your son :Woo: and congratulations :biggrin2.gif: Nothing like a new Cub. |
Congratulations !!! I love it when the tradition is passed on to the next generation.

I will get some pics tomorrow, he has had the yellow fever bad for some time. I would have gave him my 1450, but it's way to fast, also I feel the gear drive is much safer than the hydro drive between the 1450, and the 122... at his age. By the way he is not allowed to cut grass, another couple of years and he will be doing that, however he has a small pull behind trailer, and loves to ride !! We took the mower off of it today, fixed some odds and ends, however it was mostly daddy can I ride now....

Kids and Cubs, can't get any better.
Both my boys 13 & 11 love thier cubs and have come a long way in a short time with knowledge of these IH beasts. I am blessed to have both cubs & kids. Don |
Clint, I can't keep my 2 yr old off my Cubs now... can't imagine what'll be like when he's 9!
Don Bellamy, Welcome to the site! You've got to introduce yourself and post a pic of your Scout 800 and CCO in the Intro forum up top. Keith |
sorry still no pictures, big test this week for son, so he has not got much time in on his cub. I have to get him a seat for it, he said it hurt his butt, and also vibrates really bad. I think most of this is coming from the seat, it is not much more than a broken plastic bucket, not sure if I will not go back with one of the cushion seats when I do. I'm still amazed at how much power this cub has, I'm telling ya it seems to have more power than my 1450, however the hydrostatic transmission etc probably takes some power away from my 1450, his 122 is a power house on direct drive for sure !! Even when you hoss the motor with the gas throttle you can feel the peppy power. Looks like original motor as well.

Just for a kick for all of yall/us IH cub fans, my Daughter just turned 4, she has a barbie jeep that she can get to ride a wheelie 30-40 yards, and will in general out run all the lawn mowers/garden tractors here. Daddy just laughs about it, she is hot stuff too, and rides right along with my son, and my niece on the lawn mowers.
I'm from Georgia, I'm a redneck, and I'm not raising my kids to be rednecks, it's just borned in them. |
clint,
You're going to have trouble with that one when she starts driving the Cubs :ExtremeFunny: |
