Starting problems with a 127
 

new to site any input will be very helpfull, I know you have heard it before-but127 hydro started fine ran for 30 min-tried to start again no luck! batt good syl- good -ign switch good-ground ok .Tried to jump starter -pos batt pole to starter pole no luck need wire diagram (source) orig-starter, anyone had luck in local rewind of this old starter if this the problem! So, it died and now won't crank? Or it cranks and won't start? Two completely different things.

I've had good luck fixing the old S/G's, but they seldom suddenly fail. I have seen the wires break off internally before. If you suddenly have a no-crank situation, I would exhaust all other possibilities before saying the S/G is bad. The test you did from the battery to the starter terminal.... it should have cranked. You sure you have good grounds?
