I posted earlier about a 123 I bought. I sourced what went wrong with starting, the starter/generator is bad, I took it to our local starter generator shop and they said the only thing good is the housing. Where is the best place to get a good replacement? Hopefully nothing that will break the bank. I appreciate your time.

Also I notice the motor on it is K241A is this the right engine for this mower?

The original engine for that model is a k301 which is a 12 horse. The 241 is a ten horse so it has been changed.

I’ve always rebuilt my own generators but there are new ones available in the $100 range

So they didn’t elaborate what they found wrong?

They said it needed fields, brushes, and an armature.

Unless the s/g was in a fire.........
I would take it to another rebuild shop that wants the business and or knows what they are doing.

This one on flea Bay if you want to tackle it yourself. I did one of these and was pretty simple. Their are youtubes to help you through it. be sure you get the CCW kit.
