K-series ignition question

Anyone happen to know how many amp the points style ignition on a Kohler K-series pulls?

I want to run a smaller battery for pulling and trying to figure out how long it will last. My DVM will measure up to 10 amps and I think it will pull that many, but thought I would ask first.

Oh, no charging system on a puller.

There will be about ~3.0 Amps on the Points.
