Electric pto question
I picked up a 682 that I would like to use for mowing this year but it needed a pto. Now I have a 782 that I use just to plow snow with. About 2 years ago I removed the pto on the 782 witch worked fine at that time an its been sitting in the shed since. Today I installed it on the 682 an it makes a squealing sound with engine running an in off position but when I turn it on it works fine. Any thoughts?

Sounds like a "dry bearing". That should be replaced.

Thanks Roland. Is that something that can be done or am I out of luck

The average guy can replace this bearing. There are several postings here on how to do that. Do a search.
The jest of it, is that the bearing is held in place with three (??) tabs. Grind those tabs off and out comes the bearing. It is a common bearing available at any Bearing Store. |
Here is one link..... http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/showthread.php?t=24413

Thanks Roland I did do a search but didn't find that one. That helps a lot going to give it a try.
