Just picked up my first IH cub cadet. Model 147. Let the work begin.

Nice find and you gotta love that big P.O. mod on the lift handle.
Did it come with any extra parts?

Question, what is this and how should it be mounted?

Also, where can I get a starter/generator from?

That's a voltage regulator. Sorta important to making the engine run. It's where it's supposed to be, but it's should be mounted more square with the rest of the frame.

There is potential under there; what was the person thinking with the fenders....:bash2::bash:

You may not need a S/G if the issue is it isn't charging. That is not the correct v-reg. Probably why it isn't mounted right.

Have the old S/G rebuilt. No need to buy another unless the one you have isn't fixable.

That tractor doesn't have drivetrain belts. Do you mean deck drive belts?
