Cub Cadet 86 ID question
 

Hey everyone I just brought an 86 home and was looking to see what year it is (1972) by the way but my question is that the machine code does not match what the book 50 years of cub cadet by Oscar H Will III says is the code for an 86. Mine is 2050042, 0042 is the machine code a 147 is 0041 and an 86 should have either 0207 or 0208 could someone help clarify what my :bigthink::bigthink:Ohcode is I looked at various models and none use that code I cleaned the tag and it is very legible and the tractor bears all oil/grease of the last 45 years and shows no signs of being messed with or took apart thanks.:bigthink:

If you go to the Cub Cadet site and search for parts by model, it gives you the tag code. Their site shows "86, 2050042U, 2050207U, 2050208U"

For the OP, the 147 code is 2050041U.

I just made a note in my book..... that's the first err I have found in Oscar's book. :beerchug:

Thank you John, Lance, and Deltacub for the info I have book marked that link for future reference the book error got me wondering so just for grins I checked the codes on several different machines and compared them to the book and that was the only one that was off.:beerchug:
