3000 Series Mower Deck
 

Anyone know why the deck is open around where the spindles mount on the 60 inch deck? Seems like this would allow a lot of debris to be blown up on the top of the deck.

All other Cub Cadet decks I have had are closed around the spindles.

to let air up and out so the vacuum lifts the grass up better

This 60" deck came on a 3225 I picked up for a Winter project. Haven't had a 60 before. I can see where that would help air flow some.

This deck was packed with trash on the top, guess those openings allow a lot of other stuff to flow also.
