Cub Cadet 1250 flange assembly
 
What is the correct way to mount this flange assembly on? Part #903-0204. When i try to position drive shaft the little bushing thing falls inside hole.

Seriously? Post a picture or something. I'm not going to go look up the driveshaft assembly, and try to find the part number your talking about. I don't care if it's a pic of your part, or the parts blowout pic and you give the callout number, but help us out. :angry:

Sounds like you need to buy a new one because the bushing shouldn't fall out.

Like Tim said, the bushing shouldn't fall out. If it does, it's shot.

It mounts to the engine like you are holding it in pic #2.
Seriously, you can clearly see the outline of the engine mounting flange in pic 1, and the bolt heads in pic 2. Should have been obvious.

And seriously J-Mech? I can't believe you answered in such fashion. You know as well as I do someone could have put this part on wrong before me, that's why I asked. Just because u can clearly see the way it went on before, doesn't mean it's right now does it? Help us out here and think about the question before answering so abruptly. With your advanced mechanical skills, im surprised u didn't think this out A little better. Surely next time you will catch yourself.

Sure someone could have put it on wrong. But they didn't. Seldom do people rebuild driveline before we get to them. 9 out of 10 times, the way it came off, is the way it goes back on. The bevels on the part only make sense for it to be mounted the way that it was mounted, and correctly goes. You wouldn't bolt up a flex coupler to it as in pic one right? That would be silly, it would pull the disk down into a divit on the flange where the bolt goes. It makes sense that the flex disk would bolt up solid to the coupler as in pic two, where it would have a flat place to mount.

I did think it out very well before I answered. I don't know how you couldn't have figured out in less than 10 seconds how it installed. I also don't know how you could have looked up the part, saw that it was sold as a one piece unit, one that you can click on and it give you an actual picture of the part, and still not know that the bushing wasn't supposed to fall out.

You have also completely restored a 1250 before.

I don't think I'm the one who needs to think a little bit more before posting.

I did lookup the part and it didn't show a close enough pic of how it went on. That's why I asked. I just can't figure why u have to try and belittle people when they ask a question, no matter what it is all the time. So do yourself a favor next time I ask a question on here, please don't reply douchebag.

And if I'm kicked off this site. No biggie.......
